In 2016 Las Colinas Golf resort and country club welcomed over 84 players, from 20 countries and 5 continents as it held the second stage of the European tour qualifying school.

 

Once you play Las Colinas Golf course it isn't hard to see why the resort was chosen again to host this stage, with its strategically placed bunkers, large lakes, and tricky par 3 holes, its a challenging course for the best of golfers.

 

Coupled with the warm temperatures that Las Colinas Golf resort enjoys from its average of 320 days of sunshine each year, conditions are tough for these talented players.

 

With 4 of Spain's promising stars taking part from Valencia / Catalonia and Madrid, there were larger crowds than usual to cheer on the countries hopefuls.

 

The week after saw the 18 players who qualified play the final stage to go for the European tour card, Two of the places were awarded after a playoff amongst 5 players which was eventually won by James Allen and Andrea maestroni.

 

It was a great event and everyone who took part was in admiration at the quality of Las Colinas Golf resort and the golfing experience on offer.
